Much closer to the 2nd one...but the top of the base part turns round and round to make the post go up.

I been holding on to the first one for a least 25 years, that was my first jeep jack , back in 76 I had no clue what a Hi Lift jack was. I had seen pictures in PV4 (Pickup,Van, and 4WD) but never bought one till later in life. I never worried about getting stuck ,at least not untill the beer ran out.Now I have 3 trucks with PTO winches , hilift jacks , and never get off road. But I'm Ready
This is apparently a stock M715 jack:
(Kwai, you still want that, right? I'm planning on bringing it to the FE. A reminder from you a couple weeks before would be helpful!)

two twelve packs
Thats it Binford!
Now I have to find out what a "high lift" is. I have heard the term but not being involved with vehicles, I gotta do some searches.
Hi Lift is the ame of the company that makes the jacks:

OK, have seen those in the past, just did not know the name or maker. You say a 48" so that would be a HL-485. I assume you jack on the bumper or bumper-etes? Why so high? If not off-roading, wouldn't a 42" be high enough?
Frankly, I'd look for a 60" Hi-Lift. I've got a 48" and it's been pretty close to the top jacking the M715 from the bumperette. Heck, it's almost to the top before I start jacking it!
A Hi-Lift jack and some cable or chain can also be used to winch a vehicle and having that extra 12" can help there too.

The reason I said the 48 inch is it has been reported that the 60 inch wont fit in the storage compartment...if you intend to carry it in there, you are limited.
The bumper right under where it mounts to the frame in front or under the rear crossmember in the rear works.
