Thread: A few wiper questions

    Default A few wiper questions

Do the wiper arms simply pull straight off of the shafts, or is there a catch that has to be manipulated?
Mine aren't budging and I'm afraid to force them.

I haven't found any NOS wiper motors yet to buy.
Has anyone used the wiper motors made for the M-151?
Has anyone had their old ones refurbished by the Wiper Man?

Going on memory. And may be completely wrong here. But look under the arm there may be a spring loaded retainer. Pull it out then probably have to pry up, since they been on there so long. Or jiggle the arm back and forth while holding keeper out and pulling out while twisting right side tongue in a clockwise direction towards the star opposite of the North Star as if looking at it from the South Pole.

They pull off. You may have to pry them gently. Pry on one side alittle and then the other. They will come off eventually. I took mine off to reset them in the same position on both sides. It may take some time and patience, but they do come off.

Isn't that little clip looking thing on the left side of the round opening a locking key? It might need to be gently pulled back to take it off.
    Thanks for all the help!

That's an interesting picture of the wiper blade underside. I'm absolutely positive I just pried up on mine and they popped off. It does look like a locking key of some sort, but I never noticed it on my arms. I know for sure I never got up under the arm to release anything.

I gently pried on mine as suggested and they came off pretty easy after using some WD-40 and a brake adjusting pry bar for leverage, thanks fellas
Once they were off, I discovered the lock as shown in maskale's picture, the lock must not have been doing much and no damage was done.
