Default what's the holes in kick panel

I had to repair sheetmetal in passengerside kick panel. I left the little hole by the bottom hinge.
I got to looking in the manuals . I can't figure out what the holes is for. It was a good home for a old wasp nest . Had a few vintage pop tops.
I have to repair driverside also. I have to leave the hole so that it will match passengerside.
I hope someone can tell me that there is good reason for the hole.

I figure it was just a drain hole. Nothing bolts in or was accessible there, and when I repaired the small rust holes on the seams in my floors, I covered them and welded them shut. I've never missed them since.

I was also wondering about that hole when I fixed that area.

When I was reparing the rocker panels, I took a picture looking up.

Here it is from inside the cab part way through fixing:

Like Randyscycle said, there are no bolts that you need to access there. My best guess is that the factory needed that hole in order to get their spot weld gun in there to weld the last few welds between the floor and the kickpanel.
I did accidentally dropped some hardware down the door pillar when I was attaching the doors, and this hole allowed me to get the hardware back out. Without it, I guess I just would have had one of those rattles that never goes away.

dang wish I'd have talked to yall first. I think I would have welded the holes shut.
As it is I'll keep the holes and call them just another one of the m715's unique oddities.
    Thanks for the info
