I have a 1990 VE 12V that is going in backed by a getrag. I'm planning on adding a PTO to the getrag (so that I can keep my winch) and I'm not sure if it would have clearance issues on a married 205. I know the divorced 205 will leave about an inch between the two. Will going with a married 205 leave enough room to mount a PTO and possibly use the stock shifters/driveshafts? Have any of you been able to make a divorced 205 work in the stock location?
Having built a divorced set up with that exact engine/transmission. I would suggest married and run the pto off the NP205. 1 cross member to build, eliminate 2 u-joints and a shaft, the transfer case will be up under the "bulge" I the floor of the cab for the transfer case as well. Going divorced with that long Getrag puts the transfer case near the rear lip of the cab.
More than likely you will need new drive shafts front and rear. Or at least modifications made to the ones you have now.

Getrag was the German made transmission used behind the 6BT before the NV4500 came along.
The married fits fine and you want to keep that rear shaft as long as you can. The divorced case tends to give you more lost motion.
