Kwai? What do you think?
Hey, what's that black thing at about 7 o'clock from the accelerator pump?
I'll stick the image here for convenience:

Is that the little plastic cam thing that actuates the accelator pump? You know, the part that always breaks?!
Yeah, you mean the part that you dropped and broke? I think its one and the same, lol.
No, the part I dropped and broke was inside the carb. This piece looks like the one that sits on the outside near the back right-hand side (as it sits in the truck) that pushes in on the accelerator pump arm. Many have broken this part as well, though I have not.
Yet.
$30.00 sounds good to me, Surplus city it is. I kind of feel like a dog chasing his tail. It's a good thing the carb isn't the only area I'm working on, but so far it's been the most time consuming.
I know the feeling, Shooter! Oh boy....do I!
Just as I'd get a kit or part I needed, I'd discover (or break) another!
The surplus city kit looks to be missing a few o-rings and wave-washers compared to the Jeep kit I got from Memphis. Notably missing is the rubber gasket for the idle screw. It is especially shy and didn't make it into my picture either. However, it is usually dryed out and should be replaced.
Other than that it looks like the kit includes the plastic bellcrank that others have asked for which is good if yours is broken.
That does look like the accelerator pump actuating arm. If that is in a kit, someone should buy a few thousand for later...
Great find. Also, AB stocks NOS kits.
I had mine rebuilt at National Carb here and the guy there said that he'd seen every carb ever built and had a kit for them. I brought a NOS kit with me just in case... good thing too cuz he'd never seen this carb before. :D BTW they did a great job, not just a rebuild but a complete overhaul and reconditioning.
