Fuel Gauge question
I am installing my new fuel tank along with a new fuel sending unit and my fuel gauge will only go up to 3/4. The new sending unit ohms out from 1.2 to 32.6 the old gauge ohms out at 1.8 to 31.9. The fuel gauge is a MS24544-2 the sending unit is 6680-00-917-6029. Everything I have found on the two parts shows they should work properly together. So dose anyone have an idea how to get the gauge to read full? I can live with the 3/4 equals full if I have to but while it is apart if I can fix it now is the time. Oh the fuel gauge reads empty at the bottom of travel of the sending unit. Also I have a 24 volt system. Thanks Ed

Dose anyone know what the voltage is at the connection for the fuel sending unit? I would guess 24 volts. My voltage is 4 volts.

I would also guess 24v at the sender.
You might run a test line straight off the batteries and see if that changes your readings.
If you know the empty reading is accurate everything else is superfluous details... those suckers aren't fun to push.

Going to pull the gauge and see if it produces a voltage drop. Then I will run a jumper from the batteries. The wiring looks good and have had no issues with it. All other lights and gauges work great. Being I have things apart figured I would try to get it working correctly.
thanks

Just checked the fuel gauge. It has 24 volts in and 4 volts out. That is what I was getting at the fuel sending unit. So looks like I will go with the fuel gauge reading 3/4 full when it is really full.
